Good news on the C-bus stuff.

I did not see the converter boards - have you a link. There may be one for
this cable... Bet it doesn't have all the supporting electronics on board
though. All you have to worry about on mine is 8 data lines and 5 control
lines. Power and backlight make up the rest of the 16 pins.

The picture is life size as long as you look at it through the wrong end of
some binoculars. The soldering on the next version is much neater too (so
far and when I can see it).

Once I get the electronics working I will be looking at xAP for the control
of the LCD. Should be fun trying to say 'draw an oval at these coordinates
with these radiii(iii) (what is the plural of radius anyway) with a fill
pattern of something else.

Ho, ho, one step at a time.

Ian

Hi Ian,

I think I am getting all my email at the moment - the older black
hole seems to have been filled - but if anyone has sent me an email
expecting a reply (and I haven't) then please chase me - I always reply to
all emails. (except the Viagra ones !). Ian - I got today's email (one
before on 17/7) - and the attached picture - looks like things are
progressing nicely and it also looks a fairly easy soldering task - can't
see what your problem is - if that picture is 'real size' ;-0 <joke
btw>.
I did note on the Apollo site that there are a number of converter
boards for the very narrow pitch cables - I assume there just isn't one for
this particular display though ?? The colour unit seems well serviced in
this regard though - I haven't looked at this in any detail so I could have
it all wrong.

Great progress on the C-Bus xAP stuff over the weekend btw - I am
beginning to feel very comfortable with it all now - another update soon.

Kevin
