Hi Kevin,

Definitely interested in xAP =E2=80=93 I actually wrote a really simple
plu=
gin myself a while back (few years maybe?), but it=E2=80=99s broadcast
only=
, so just monitors local devices on the Vera and sends BSC event messages
f=
or them. It=E2=80=99s really basic and has several issues, but
it=E2=80=99=
s stable and been working ok for me. I control devices on the Vera *from*
=
xap just using the http interface, e.g. from Floorplan I can just call say:

http://vera:3480/data_request?id=3Dlu_action&DeviceNum1&serviceId=3Durn:upn=
p-org:serviceId:SwitchPower1&action=3DSetTarget&newTargetValue=3D1

to turn a device on.

Works ok, but a slight lag, so obviously not as good as having 2 way xAP
on=
Vera itself.

I did mess with 2 way before I settled on this hybrid thing, but if I
remem=
ber correctly I couldn=E2=80=99t get it stable, something to do with
keepin=
g a socket permanently open for listening wasn=E2=80=99t working well on
my=
Vera 2.

Vera is a pretty good device, I=E2=80=99ve slowly been migrating all my HA
=
stuff to Z-Wave for the past 3 years or so. But yes, MCV are shocking =E2=
=80=93 they=E2=80=99re putting almost all their efforts into new OEM
ventur=
es and leaving the DIY community behind=20

But I hear that they might be releasing an interim update to Vera UI6 to
pa=
ve the way to UI7 later in the year. It will be interesting to see what
UI=
6 brings, there=E2=80=99s certainly enough issues with Vera that need
fixin=
g.....

Happy to look at your xAP plugin, would have to try and run it in parallel
=
though so as not to break my existing sort-of-working setup=20

Cheers,

Martyn

I'm just playing around with a xAP plugin for Vera... and was wondering
if=
anyone else had an interest in this. It's basic at the moment handling B=
SC binary and level devices but has been working solidly for a couple of
mo=
nths. It could do with a couple more features to complete so was just
expl=
oring if there was any interest here ?

Overall I'm quite impressed with Vera although the support from MCV seems
t=
o be almost non existant nowadays. I was hoping the Vera Pro would be
arou=
nd by now or UI7.

Is xAP something you might use on the Vera or is it pretty much doing all
y=
ou need already ?=20=20
