Re: Anyone using a MiCasaVerde Vera ?

I originally wrote the plugin using a UDP listener and then I migrated
to using iServer running on my LiveBox Home Automation Hub. I didn't
experience issues with the UDP socket but maybe I didn't stay long
enough with that path. I'm also using a Vera 3 and not very familiar
with the Vera 2. Vera 2 runs UI5 ? I'll need to revisit UDP and double
check

..... but I'm guessing you might already have iServer running on an O2
Joggler do you ? ;-)

Just for info for anyone else reading this iServer is basically a TCP
connection to a xAP gateway and you can register device filters so that
only xAP devices you are interested in pass messages across the
connection. This has obvious advantages in that traffic is minimised
and you also don't have to check every message on the Vera as to whether
it is of interest. Helps with performance, and also can be used to
route xAP across the Internet.

The plugin currently works the other way around to yours, discovering
xAP BSC devices (that match a filter) and auto creating matching Vera
devices. It doesn't expose the existing Vera devices to xAP reporting /
control but I don't think that would be difficult to add and is
obviously a useful thing to do as it would allow Vera device types to
become xAP enabled.. an easy path to Z-Wave via xAP for example.

cheers Kevin
