Hi Kevin

=20

Thanks for the reply. As I'm updating everything I did see this first
and attempted to use it. It installed ok but I could not get it to see
any devices. I had the xap screen in homeseer and I found a pdf document
with some brief details but from what I could gather I should have seen
the xap traffic and then been able to add them but I didn't see
anything. Homeseer didn't appear in the viewer either. I tried for about
an hour then looked at the current server and decided it had worked for
a number of years and I could use that but either the os, the .net
framework or something else seems to have put paid to that idea.

=20

I'll take another look it only needs re-enabling in HS and if I don't
get anywhere I can always ask!

=20

I have got HS2 latest release running on SBS2008 64 bit with all the
latest Sp's and patches nearly ready to go.

Hi Ian ,

James may be able to provide a quick work around for this... What
version of HomeSeer are you running (?) because.....

....I'm not sure how much you already have invested in James'
HomeSeer plugin but it was written many years back for HomeSeer v1.7 and
earlier, rather than the current HomeSeer 2 and it is no longer
maintained. If you have the opportunity (and I'm sure James would
agree here) then do consider moving to Michaels (mcs) .Net xAP
HomeSeer plugin which is actively maintained. It's quite different in
it's approach and a little more utilitarian in it's configuration but
it's very powerful too.=20

Hi All

=20

I'm just in the process of rebuilding my server from sbs2003 to sbs2008.
Got most things up and running but I can't get the homeseer Xap conduit
to work at all. On start up these errors show in the log

=20

31/05/2010 16:50:38 - Info - HS Compatibility, cannot access plug-in
HSPI_XAP2.HSPI Component 'MSWINSCK.OCX' or one of its dependencies not
correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid

31/05/2010 16:50:38 - System - Registering hspi_xAP2.ocx with Windows

31/05/2010 16:50:40 - Info - HS Compatibility, cannot access plug-in
HSPI_XAP2.HSPI Component 'MSWINSCK.OCX' or one of its dependencies not
correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid

31/05/2010 16:50:40 - Error - Unable to access plugin: hspi_xAP2.ocx,
try reinstalling plug-in

=20

I copied the hspi_xAP2.ocx file into the root directory of HS2 and
successfully registered it.

I have also placed MSWINSCK.ocx in both the HS2 root directory and
windows\system32 and also successfully registered them.

I have downloaded and run the vb6 run time files just in case but I
cannot get rid of the errors, and therefore can't use xAP in homeseer
which for me is an integral part.

=20

If anyone has any ideas on how to fix this it would be greatly
appreciated, I want to swap the servers over as soon as possibly but
this will mean I can't until I get this fixed.

=20

Many thanks
