You mean like downloading printer drivers and fonts separately from Word
:-)
Seriously, though...

I assume you mean for Windows?

It's something that's been mooted from time to time. It, obviously, needs
someone to take it on as a project...

I guess it'd need, basically:

- A database of applications
- A dependancy tree of subsidiary components (like xapax.ocx)
- An installer that would download and run various links...

Anyone up for it?
