Thanks Marc,

=20

I think based on your experience and tonight, having looked through the
for=
um, I'll stick with HS2. It's actually pretty stable as long as the PC
does=
n't do the damned auto reboot every MS update!=20

=20

Even my own Zigbee to HS interface is stable with it.

Subject: Re: [ukha_d] Homeseer 3

=20

=20=20

My honest advice? Steer clear.

=20

First off, although it's being sold as a finished product, with no mention
=
of a beta, I have been assured by those on the forums that it IS still in
b=
eta. I have a very simple setup, with just a few X10, Z-wave and RFXCom
dev=
ices.=20

=20

None of your devices will be imported. They have apparently changed the
ver=
y core of how devices are addresses and it basically means all devices
apar=
t from those that vpcan be imported from devices, like zwave, will need to
=
be manually created. Even the zwave ones need manual intervention to get
wo=
rking. I basically had to create all mine manually.

=20

This leads to the next issue. It's buggy as hell. Very often codes are
lost=
whilst saving new devices. Locations are randomly removed. Basically every=
time you save/modify a device, you will loose some of it's info. You'll th=
en find when you restart it, duplicate devices are made and are next to
imp=
ossible to get rid of. I've had major issues getting X10 to work, and when
=
it finally did, the x10 interface would crash then be unable to reopen
auto=
matically and just sit there. This resulting in me having to reboot the
who=
le PC, 3 or 4 times a day.=20

=20

The interface is a major bugbear. It's ugly as hell and a real step back.
W=
hen devices all over the tech world are coming onto market with slick
fluid=
interfaces as default, Homeseers is ugly, clunky, and complex. Oh, and bug=
gy.=20

=20

Homeseer are in real danger of being left behind (for want of a
competitor)=
. They need to take more responsibility for its interface and function, ra=
ther than leaving it to tinkerers. I expected a slick new product.. What I
=
got was a box of bolts As an avid, long term Homeseer user, I bought in
fa=
ith and trust I would be getting a good product. They have destroyed that
t=
rust.=20

=20

Ok, ok.. A little dramatic, but in this day and age with technology and
int=
erfaces becoming more and more advanced, I was hugely disappointed with
Hom=
eseer.

=20

And no.. I'm not using it. It is, for want of a better word, unusable in
it=
s current form. HS2 may be dated, but at least it works. Feel free to ask
a=
ny questions.=20

=20

Cheers

=20

Marc
