Scottish Power Unifi

  • Subject: Scottish Power Unifi

Hi all,

Has anyone tried hacking the scottish power unifi? (
http://www.scottishpower.co.uk/campaigns/unifi
)

Seems like they can be picked up relatively cheaply on ebay, and they
can send out the power data via ethernet (there's also a route in from
the ethernet to control some wireless mains sockets) ... but the default
situation is that all the nice logging & iphone app require a
unifi-enabled scottish power account which costs £36/year or so.

I'm thinking there's probably a way around that :-) but surprisingly
googling doesn't seem to turn up anyone that's figured it out.

Cheers,

Joseph
