der if they (the better ones anyway, like mobile phone or tablet chargers

erhaps) have some sort of=A0 internal overload protection? Your average
rin=
g main is protected by a ~32A MCB/fuse though if your transformer is
connec=
ted to a spur the 2.5mm cable is only rated for ~15A - presumably in a
faul=
t condition the wall wart has disintegrated before the cable overheats...


It does make the power brick (typically connected with a 3-5A fused cord)
s=
ound more attractive. I suppose most of the world manages without fused
plu=
gs but these examples clearly show their benefit...
