says it's discontinued & suggests replacement with DS2413 http://www.maxim-ic.com/datasheet/index.mvp/id/4588/t/al

Gave in and ordered some DS2405's from RS in the end as I needed some
other bits.

modules. I had a look at your website too - it's interesting to see how
long it takes the flow temp on your boiler to tail off - is that residual
heat in the boiler? (perhaps the pump overrun is quite short)

I'm going to use some cheap recessed magnetic sensors from
SuntekStore; http://www.suntekstore.co.uk/goods-14001404-10x+Recessed+Magnetic+Door+Window+Contacts+Alarm+Reed+Switch.html

Hoping to fit them into the door frame, will cut a groove in the frame
to get the cable to under the floor boards, where I'll put a
breadboard with the on DS2405 in a project box.

Its been fun to watch the heating kick in and see how the pipes heat
up and cool down throughout the day, I'll have to investigate the pump
overrun - hadn't heard that term until you mentioned it.
