RE: Re: dimmable LED bulbs

Following up on this, the bulbs arrived a couple of days ago, I
plugged in =
3 of them last night.

The good news is that they do dim, and based on my unscientific eye, would
=
appear to be more or less equivalent to a 35w GU10 (in terms of colour
temp=
, brightness and coverage).

The only downside is, you can dim a regular GU10 down to next to nothing,
w=
hereas the LEDs do not dim as low. On a scale of 1-10, where a normal
bulb=
can get down to a 1, the LEDs maybe get to a 3 or 4.

However, they run cool, and cheap, and most people won't even notice
they'r=
e LEDs, so I think I'm happy!

If anyone wants details of the vendor I got them from (there's a few scare
=
stories about Aliexpress) drop me a line of list.

Thanks for the link...I've just ordered a lot of 10 dimmable 9W GU10's
(tot=
al: $223), for about half the price than I can get them for here (in the
US=
)....will let you know how they are when they get here...

Just a thought - have a look on http://www.aliexpress.com/, see if
you can =
buy anything suitable direct from some of the manufacturers in China...I
su=
spect this is where a lot of the retailers get their stuff from anyway, so
=
with a bit of caution and research, you could cut out the middle man...
