Re: Tivo

Charles,

We had a TiVo/xbmc setup for years, although I never managed to get the Tv
streamed to the xboxes. Family all loved it etc, but a couple of years ago
TiVo began to creek a bit with the occasional freeze and out of sync a/v.

I took the plunge at that time and moved to windows media center (vista at
that time, now windows 7)

I would suggest trying it, you have to accept that it's not a TiVo/xbmc
setup and therefore there will be differences.

We run a main machine in the living room, 2x freeview tuners and we also
have 2 extenders in other rooms. Family acceptance has been high, and even
though it's not nearly as good a media player as xbmc it does the job and
in our case has been maintenance free.

I would suggest trying it. One piece of advice is to treat it like a TiVo
rather than a PC - don't go installing a pile of rubbish on it - only what
you need. Sometimes our kids ask if they can use it as a browser, and I
always tell them no chance

Hope that helps a bit...

Regards

Simon
