RE: Re: Solar PV ?
Steve,
South is the ideal but you will still get a good return on East or West.
Assuming your talking a domestic install then 4Kwh of solar panels is the
effective maximum you'll get permission to install (without paying the DNO
thousands to upgrade) and you can run those of a single inverter so the
cost shouldn't really be much different.
My roof faces west (in fact its slightly towards NW) and our 3.99kWh
install should still get me annual return on investment of 10.4% (12K to
install and 1200 back in Fits payments + savings on electricity)

I recently had tesco's out, while the building is huge we have little south
roof and 15deg rotated to the east. Would I be correct that with east/with
install and doubling up of panels, invertors, cable, scaffold etc that when
the quote comes back it wont be worth bothering ?

Craig,
Whilst I really want the micro-inverters, they're still not available and
the release date for them keeps being put back - currently October (maybe).
So it looks like I'll be going with a Fronius TL 3.6 inverter which, until
1
October comes with a free 20yr warranty.
Still not finally decided who to go with but it's looking like Sun
Renewables.
regards
Stewart

Any updates on recent installs?
Marcus - any news on your install, did the inverter go in loft or cellar?
Stewart - have you made a decision on what type of inverters to use, micro
vs. string?
Cheers,
Craig
