Re: Bayonet fitting LED bulbs.



I always like a new LED bulbs thread, because I'm still looking for
good cheap ones :-)
I've not tried these particular ones, but in my experience...
1. Anything under a tenner is rubbish.
2. Anything made up of lots of little LEDs is rubbish.
3. Cool whites are more efficient so will be brighter for the same wattage.
So most cheap bulbs will be on the cool side.
4. Cool white is horrible - even most warm whites are too blue for me.
5. Manufacturers claims for brightness are similar to the ones for CFLs,
ie. the output is about half what they claim. The figures on that site are
not very believable - 3W LED = 40W Tungsten is very optimistic. Even really
good emitters are more like 3W LED = 20W tungsten, and these don't look to
be anything special.
