RE: BT HomeHub Networking Woes
Dont know the answer but I noticed the same thing last night.
If I try to ping my server by name it also says pinging server.home and
comes up with a stupid 216.x.x.x address. It has ONLY just started doing
this so I guess they have done some sort of firmware update that has
screwed
it up. I can also no longer access the LAN settings page on the router, I
get a 500 Internal Server Error message.
I have to say I am not impressed with the HomeHub2, it had frequently
locked
up requiring a reset and also DynDNS is broken.
You enter myhostname.dyndns.org and the router changes it to www.dyndns.org
which then fails. I had to put a dyndns client on my server to keep it
working. When I spent over 30 mins on the phone to india the idiot at the
other end said "and why are you wanting to use this feature?"
...erm BECAUSE
ITS SUPPOSED TO WORK and I have been using it on my HomeHub 1 for several
years!!!!"
Was thinking of defaulting the router and starting again.
