I suppose they will argue that if they put in a junction box and join
the
cable then they are providing a ne'er-do-well with an opportunity to tap
into the wiring and bypass the system / sensor. That and connectors being a
potential source of unreliability - wires coming out, screws working loose,
etc.

In your specific example, do you have any spare cores in the cable you can
swap the tamper loop over to?

On the subject of "external" junction boxes for alarm cables, I
should
expect that they are included as part of the tamper loop too (like the
casing of the alarm panel itself is tamper-protected). Otherwise the
same ne'er-do-well has free access to *all* of your alarm wiring without
needing the engineer code to disarm and do maintenance.

I'm not an alarm installer, these are just my thoughts :-)
