Re: How to Join Alarm Cables

I have a similar issue in that I have an existing cable that just
occasionally gives an open circuit tamper fault when we walk over a
certain floor area where the cable is metal stapled to the floor. It's
a professionally maintained alarm and they have point blank refused to
'join' the cable and instead want to re-run a new length. I also want
to relocate the panel by about 1m onto a wall instead of the wood
partition it is currently mounted on , (so we can remove the
partition), again they won't consider extending the cables and there
would be a lot of cables to re-run.

I don't know if this is a general practice that NACOSS or whatever they
are now called insist on .. or if it's just a 'more money please' ploy
.. anyone know ? Regardless Jon I'm interested to see what your
research turns up, and if it's officially acceptable - even better.
