BBC iPlayer/International use

  • Subject: BBC iPlayer/International use

Quick question, following on from the recommendation for http://www.my-private-network.co.uk/
. I'm in the US now (but still paying for a UK TV licence....don't ask) so
would like to get access to iPlayer. My question is, not having used it
since the first beta a few years ago, assuming I sign up for a UK VPN
account, and get access through one of my PCs, can I then grab programs and
push them to my iPhone (or iPad, in a few weeks)? Obviously, if I go to
the iPlayer directly from the iPhone it blocks it as its non-UK, but if I'm
just sync'ing content, would it work?

On a side note, the VPN connection would only work for 1 PC per GBP5 fee,
presumably? I have a couple of media servers from which it would be useful
to have access. I think my router supports some kind of VPN as well, never
really looked into it properly though.

Thanks, Pete
