RE: RE: RE: [ukha_d] Acer Revo 3600's for £130 inc VAT
Unusually W7 with MC did "just work" :) W7 seems to be far
better in that
respect than previous version, but I'm still a *nix guy at heart - no
looking back once I made the move from VMS to SunOS all those years ago :)
The only Windows issue I had was getting the updated DVB-S2 driver to load
on both cards, but it was a W7 beta driver.
I might have a bash at building a 2nd box to sit in the garage and give
Myt=
h
another try using the Acer as a front-end.

I use the on-air EIT data.

Audio over HDMI does seem to need quite a few things setting just right. I
use=20
VGA as HDMI overscans on my TVs.

Hmmm, Linux/myth can be a fiddle, but Windows is rarely "just
worked" IME
and=20
frequently stops working for no good reason.

Our mythtv system is still new, but has quickly replaced the previous=20
PVR/geexbox system and is getting a *very* high WAF rating.

296 days uptime on my main media server. :-)

I just took it in stages and ran the myth system in parallel for a while.

The good thing about Ubuntu (and myth) is the copious and helpful=20
web/forum/email help.
