RE: RE: [ukha_d] Acer Revo 3600's for £130 inc VAT

Do you get the listings via XMLTV or via DVB-T? I couldn't get xmltv
workin=
g
(although I have had it working on another box before so guess it was an
issue between channel numbers and names)

Myth seemed to work OK until I replaced the onboard VGA with a fancy nvidia
220 based board with HDMI output, I could get a perfect 1080p picture but
n=
o
sound. I upgraded to the latest (at the time - just before Christmas)
nvidi=
a
drivers and Myth / Ubuntu was still unable to see the sound card (works
fin=
e
in W7 though).=20

I have no reason to stay with Microsoft other than the fact that it
"just
worked" whereas Myth took quite some time to get sorted, any change
over
needs to be simple and easy otherwise I'll get grief as the wife has worked
out W7 MC. Getting rid of the annoying windows update / reboot would be
excellent though.

To use the Acer as a Myth front-end to a Myth backend would not be an issue
if I could get the recordings over from Win 7 MC AND ensure that the guide
had the correct listings.

Myth would be ideal and was the 1st choice, it just didn't work :( One of

first Linux outings many many years ago was Debian, so the guts of
Mythbunt=
u
did seem familiar.

I can't help regards DVB-S2, but there is a very active and helpful mythtv=
=20
mailing list. However, I might be able to help regards the TV issue.

Not myth for sure. XBMC? I've got no idea as I don't use Windows Media
Centre.
