RE: HDMI over CAT5
20-30m is reaching the limits for cat5e baluns (very much dependent on

the cables are run and how they are terminated) so I would suggest starting
with the extended range versions that are rated at 50m or more. I=92d also

from a reputable supplier with a decent returns policy as you may well need

My experience indicates that there is a fair variability in quality and
consistency with the cheaper unbranded units sold in many places.=20

Subject: [ukha_d] HDMI over CAT5

Hi All
Does anyone have and practical experience with any of the HDMI over CAT5
baluns that are available. I'm exploring options of upgrading my existing
V+ distribution via COAX to support HD but looking at Keene, for example,
there is a bewildering array of boxes to do it. These range in price from
=A350 a pair to =A3500. My gut feel is go in cheap at =A350 and see what

but has anyone been there and done it? Distance requirements should be
fairly short at the 20-30m range rather than the 200m some systems quote.
Cheers
Brian
