I have installed WHS on VMware ESX before but this was some time ago.
A couple of issues that I remeber are that WHS just sees a single disk
that the VM presents, so from memory you are not able to do any file
duplication. Also, I could not get WHS to install directly, I had to
use VMWare Converter to create an image which can then be loaded, so
doing this for a working WHS full of data would be a big exercise.

I have also installed VMware Server onto a WHS server. This works
quite well for light usage - I've not tried anything that is CPU
intensive. I installed onto my system disk and also put the O/S images
there - don't know what well they would work on a drive the DEmigrator
runs against.
