Budget Home Theatre Recommendations?

My trusty old Toppy is beginning to creak a bit with the HDD making
some
interesting noises!

I could just replace the HDD but this seems an ideal opportunity to
upgrade.

FreeviewHD arrives here in April (fingers crossed) so I need a
replacement for the Toppy

The TV is a 48"sharp LCD but at present, I use the built in speakers
for
the audio.

I also have a Popcorn hour with Blueray.

I'm looking to replace my very old HiFi with an AV amp with new speakers
(the trusty old Kef 104.2's are getting in the way!)

I don't need multi-room video feeds and multi-room audio is handled by a
7 zone sonos system.

My living room is L-shaped and just doesn't lend itself to a hi-end set
up so I don't want to pay a fortune.

So, knowing many on the list are enthusiastic home cinema builders, I'm
looking for recommendations for a FreeviewHD PVR, AV Amp and 5.1
speakers - Can I get all the above, with half reasonablespecs for, say
£1,000? (and I'd be very happy to pay less but not much more!!)

Your thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

Neil
