Great idea, but put it on the pipe before the olive and then it will
work.

Putting it on the threads is a waste of time with compression fittings.

Great recommendation. I've used so much of that stuff over the years that
there's probably more Fernox than copper in my plumbing :-)

You need something called LSX by Fernox. This is soft setting silicone
joint
sealant which is the the DIY'ers best friend when plumbing. I use a smear
on
most joints which compress and haven't had a leak in years.
