Re: [ukha_d] Re: Joggler - scope for HA use ?

Got on pretty well with it, but spent far more hours on it than I should
have done. Installed Ubuntu Network Remix which works well with the touch
screen. Problems with networking, wired is now sorted (eth0 interface
reports its MAC as ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff which my switch didn't like, but
manually setting the MAC fixed that). Still haven't got the wireless
working with WPA-PSK but as this one is destined as a Squeezebox controller
in my workshop where there is no shortage of network sockets that's not a
problem. The 'Touch' skin for Squeezeboxserver is going to need some
hacking, currently it has some fairly serious usability issues on both
Chrome and Firefox.
I ordered 2 more before the price went up. Next one that arrives is
destined to be a Zoneminder monitor in the hall so will need to get the
wireless working by then. Hopefully soon there should be a lot more
collective knowledge available. Next job is hardware mod to put memory
stick for the Ubuntu install and a bluetooth dongle (for when keyboard
and/or mouse is required) inside the case.
Overall, for £50 it's a absolute giveaway if you have the
knowledge to put
a decent OS on it.
