I built a machine loosely around these components, it has since been split
up into one backed and a load of slim clients but it should give you a
start.

XFx Geforce 9300 series motherboards,
Samsung 1tb eco drives (a tad on the slow side but nice and cool in small
cases)
hauppauge nova-t & nova-s tv cards.
Running Mythbuntu and boxee.
Worked like a charm for over 12 months, has since been replaced with a
dedicated backed fitted with tv cards and slimline units for each tv.
