RE: Bye Bye Sky...

Yeah, I still remember my old Tivo with fond memories, and to this day
have
yet to encounter any other piece of hardware that was as well designed, and
as well engineered.. a joy to use. - I just wish they'd kept up with the
times and launched some newer models in the UK, then I would have stuck
with
it. As it was, the old limited tuner support meant that at the end I was
just doing so many "bodges" with multiple receiver boxes / IR
dongles etc.
that it was getting silly...

Hi Paul,

I get exactly the same things happening with my two SKY+ boxes ( non HD
variety)

Last week it failed to record House :(

CLASHED .... No idea what with because nothing else was set to record.
Thankfully Tivo grabbed it from the other SKY box.

Then on Monday, I looked in the planner and noticed that it was due to
record something at 9pm, looked at the clock 9:20pm, no red light. Changed
to that channel and the splash banner said it was recording, then another
banner said "There is a problem with this channel" and the whole
box
crashed.

Rebooted and it took almost 15 mins to come to life then started recording
the program which was now 2/3 over. It has also started asking for the pin
on several channels, but not every time, yet the other box does not ask for
pins on those channels.

Heap of crap the lot of them. Am sticking with Tivo for as long a possible
(have 2 spares so should be ok for a while).

Keith
