I find it frustrating too - when thread titles have some strange
"spam" and other text inserted (I too use threaded mail app).

However I'm sure I too have used another thread to reply to the odd
time, changing the title.  I wasn't aware this effected some clients
threading - so I'm guilty too.

Anyway, I think we all now know to try and improve things.
