Once it has learnt locally, and used successfully, it is loaded to the
online database, so the next user with the same device(s) can use the
online
version. I have done this with heatmiser IR codes from an original remote.

You can also email Logitech support IR codes (if you don't have original
remote) and they will add them for you. I did this with Canon EOS codes,
where I didn't have original remote, but found some hex codes on internet.
