RE: HDD Choices



Well I had a batch of WD RE2 drives that failed in a RAID array -
well, they reported SMART errors and occasionally disconnected. Luckily
they have 5 year warranty. They're on 24/7.

I had another batch which reported SMART errors on another RAID PC -
something to do with long startup times although that's a false error I
think as I'm pretty sure something else is causing the problem - replaced
PSU, so maybe the MB. I replaced this whole batch (4 drives IIRC) but the
replacements started reporting the same error about 3-4 weeks later.
