As they were unbearably noisy I disconnected the fans in my FSM726's
(living dangerously) and I haven't had a problem but my rack is well
ventilated.
For Gigabit I bought some Dell PowerConnect 2724's at a good price which
are fanless/managed and I also have some Netgear GS116's which are
fanless/unmanaged/low cost but only 16 port and not rackmount - compact
though.
