Re: Humax 9150T

I have a Humax 9200T. It must have a different guide from those
mentioned (or I am more easily pleased!) as I love it. More importantly so
does SWMBO.
On the strength of that I bought a Humax LP40-TDR1-X, which is a 40inch LCD
set with built in Humax box.

Rant begins...
What a heap of cr*p. The thing hangs, the guide is horrible. The twin tuner
is very limited. On the plus side the picture is good and the sound is
outstanding. I am overdue to update the software (got from Humax customer
service eventually. How can anyone justify selling a thing that DOES NOT
WORK thes send the software update to make it work (perhaps).
Interested in anyone elses experience of LP40-TDR1-X. Please respond as new
thread..don't want to hijack!
Rant over

Summary...take care. Humax have some models that are brilliant and some
that are anything but. Read as many reviews as possible. Try it in the shop
if you can. Get it on sale or return. Good luck
Rgds
Peter
PS Anyone got a Humax Freesat PVR. Are they any good? Please respond as new
thread

My parents bought a 9300 over Christmas, I was disappointed with the guide
and a little quirkiness, but they are finding it OK so perhaps it's alright
for non-tekkies (not those on here!).

Having used XP MCE for a couple of years (and lost a lot of hair!),
currently have MediaPortal on test and it's working like a dream.
Scheduling
could be better, but the For The Record add-on does just about everything
you could want.
