A broken pc :(

Xmas eve - getting ready for party music suddenly stops... Wife not happy -
me running round like headless chicken installing squeeze server on another
pc - thank god I don't totally follow this green thing and have another 3
pc's running in the house.

Wife happy, music back on and party good.

PC still seems to be broken, thought it was psu but seems not - now have it
powering up (was just now have it powering up (was just flashing lights and
going straight off) but no other lights so it looks like new pc time...

Anyone got a recommendation for a motherboard and processor a motherboard
and processor combo ? I have drives/bluray etc and silverstone case so
shall try to keep costs to a minimum. keep costs to a minimum.

Guess this is also an opportunity to try whs or win7 Any advice
appreciated.
