I've been "stuck" in NY due to missed flights for a full day
three times in
the last year, and on each occasion I went into Manhattan, which I assume
is
where you are going. It's a superb place to visit, and you'll have a great
weekend, but to be honest, I didn't see a lot of tech shops.

However, check out local.google.com for computer shops in the local area [

be afraid to use the subway system -
it's a little cryptic initially, but once you figure out the maps its
great.
$7 for a 24 hr ticket, on and off as many times as you like. It'll take you
close to anywhere you like... you'll want to use it anyway, it'll quickly
take you from central park, to times square, to ground zero etc...
