Kevin,

I've been looking for over a year for a device that could do what you
describe and haven't found anything off the shelf.

I guess you could go for a basic device which indicates standby
current or operational current. Such a device could use a current
sensor and opto-isolator.

A more advanced device would give constant current reading and also
monitor voltage to give accurate power output (Watts / VA).

However, as I say I haven't found anything that will do this and be
small enough to fit behind a pattrress and provide output that can be
read by HA kit.

However, I am still very interested in  this subject
