RE: OT: Birdbox with Colour Camera
Thanks to John and Steve for their responses.
I've eventually plumped for a Gardenature wireless colour IR kit. Not
cheap,
but excellent quality.
Gardenature are fairly local to me so I went to see them and I was very
impressed with their kits and overall professional approach.
The box is up and running (no bird interest yet) and I've sorted out the
kit
(UHF modulator) necessary to send live pictures to all TVs in the house.
I've also purchased an AV to USB kit (called DVD Maker), including
Cyberlink
SW, so I can capture and save the pictures on my PC and produce DVD's of
the
footage.
Next step is to work out how I can forward live pictures to my website.
Whilst I've got several websites set up, I'm not proficient at web design,
so can anyone point me in the right direction, as I've no idea where to
start!
Thanks in advance
Stewart

We have a home made bird box with a B&W camera, connected to a
geovision
system so records when movement.
Box is made of oak (from some old flooring that we had to take up) and the
camera is connected using cat5 and baluns to provide power (the box is on
the side of a shed that is attached to the house so just needed a few holes
drilling through walls to get back to the PC running geovision). Camera
came
from Henrys (this was it but not available now
http://www.cctv- <http://www.cctv-centre.co.uk/cctv/3046.htm>
centre.co.uk/cctv/3046.htm) .
Been in place for 2 seasons now and we have had 2 broods of blue tits.
First
year we think (its sometimes difficult to count the eggs) there were 7 eggs
and 5 hatched and last year 7 eggs and all 7 hatched.
Its been great fun as we gave access to various family members so they
could
follow the proceedings. Keep meaning to upgrade the camera so that we get
some night vision but you know how it is ...... too many other things to
do!
