That's interesting (about the 4GB support I mean) - does that imply
they
are 64bit OS's or have they implemented some hardware specific memory
swapping mechanism....

If your budget allows, I highly recommend a MacBook.  You can install
Windows and have the best of both worlds.  Mine has 2Gig and works great
with XP.  The new models recently released now support 4GB ram.
