Can't help with your exact question but have you thought about a

r device? I recently bought the datacolor Spyder 3 calibration device - it

made a huge difference when I calibrated my three Dell LCD screens -

good if not essential for video and graphics work. Colours were more vivid=
, whites exactly matched to a specified white luminance level etc. I'd
