Appliance module and add-a-motor - HELP no go

Everywhere I read this should be possible but so far no luck getting
it to
work.

I am trying to get an X10 appliance module to control an add-a-motor drape
motor. It works fine if I just have the Wall wart plugged in to the power
switch and turn the power on and off manually but when I try doing the
power
off and back on with an appliance module it just doesn't work. It's as if
the drapery motor still thinks it is receiving power. I found a dead link
to
an article about just this problem but alas the website is long gone.

Can someone please save my sanity.

Thanks

David
