I had one of my Windows XP partitions refuse to boot.
Kept telling me a file was missing or corrupt.
I booted off my original windows XP CD and selected the 'repair'
option.
This was a mistake as it does bugger all!
What you have to do is select 'Install', THEN select 'fix windows'!
It then appears to be installing windows from scratch but it is
actually fixing windows and doesn't delete any other programs or
settings already installed.
Plus a UPS would be useful. ;-)
