Just been on the QNAP forum and noticed they have released a new
beta firmware for there range of home NAS devices. Details are as
follows?

Release date:
2008/06/03

Revision, Build:
2.1.0 Build 0602

[What's new?]
- Add Surveillance Station
--* Supports 2 channels recording
--* Automatic ActiveX plugin installation for IE-based browsers
--* support 5 real-time monitoring modes
--* support 2 recording modes (continous & alarm)
--* Firefox is currently not supported (IE Tab Firefox extension can
be installed as a workaround solution)
--* SSL connection is currently not supported
--* Need to enable the surveillance station in order to create the
Qrecording share (when updating firmware)
--* Fresh installation will create the Qrecording share after disk
initialization

- QPKG support introduced
--* Joomla 1.5.1
--* phpMyAdmin 2.11.4
--* SSOTS 3.0 beta 13 (Now with Squeeze Center 7!, courtesy of
flipflip)
--* MLDonkey 2.9.5
--* Optware/Ipkg 0.99.163

- Twonky upgrade to V4.4.5
- Add DDNS "no-ip" support
- Support SMTP with SSL/TLS (now supports Gmail)

[Enhancements]
- Add a confirm messagebox when remove RAID (TS-209)

[Major Bug Fixes]
- Fixed samba modify/access time not getting updated
- Fixed incorrect SMTP sender name issue
