Hmmm this is looking expensive!!! The problem is that my sata
interface card doesn't support the faster speed, 3gbit/sec.
Looked into jumper settings...and also a utility you can download from
samsung that should force the hd to stay at 1.5 but alas no joy.
Looking on forums there's been a fair few issues with these with lots
of people on older kit just having no luck!!
Now I know as a true ukha'er I should treat this as perfect
justification to buy more upgrades but it wasn't really in the plan!
So does anyone have that they wish to sell...or know of a 'CHEAP' Sata
2 PCI interface card? Everything I'm finding is around the =A340 mark
at the lowest which wasn't really part of the plan!!
I'm on an old ATX motherboard with AMD Socket 462 processor (yes yes
old i know but does the job) so upgrading means new mobo, processor,
prob ram the lot!!
Cheers
Noel
