RE: 3V AC/DC PSU for mounting in a back box/wall?
Have you thought about maybe using a single meaty PSU in a central
location, feed it to whatever multiple points you need, with a little DC-DC
converter at the delivery end? - a small DC-DC board should be quite a bit
easier to fit in a backbox...

Yes - it's where I position the wall wart though - trying to keep them to a
minimum and have a clean look...
