sack of sh**e sky box

Chaps, anyone here know much about sky box installation?

My HD box has been getting progressively worse for a few weeks now,
symptoms have mainly been *really* bad picture breakup, - like where
there's a very poor signal. - Plus pops & squeaks on the audio, picture
freezing, & going blocky etc...

It started on just a few channels, but has over time been evident on
more & more of them (but oddly, not all). Also, some channels would be
so bad that box gave up & declared there was no signal being
received...
The signal strength meter shows as good a signal as it ever has, and my
other HD box which is fed from the same quad LNB on the same dish is
fine.

This morning it got to the point where 90% of the channels were
unwatchable due to either saying there was no signal, or being
completely broken up & stuttering. Allied to this of course is that
over
the same period more & more recordings have been failing. This annoyed
me sufficiently that I thought I'd see if there was anything I could to
improve it.

So I've done the "Full System Reset" from the installers menu...

Now the box isn't picking up any signal at all... :-( the signal
strength screen shows no signal, "Not locked" etc...

I've checked the transponder & LNB settings, & they are the same as
my
other functioning box, so I can't see any settings that obviously need
tweaking....

Anyone know if there is anything else that needs to be reset following a
full system reset? - ob is box FUBAR?

Cheers.

Paul G.
