Digging up an old thread here,  but I've just been looking on a similar
theme and see no-one suggested anything for you.

Google turned up this website that has quite a list of the key
manufacturer's products.  http://tinyurl.com/33parn

The Boston Acoustics DSi250s http://tinyurl.com/2jqxhr come in at
60mm from
surface, which is pretty slim and might fit your situation.

Nothing massive - it's fed by a Russound whole house amp, so only 20W per
channel at 8 Ohms.
