Re: X10 rcd problem

Hi Peter,

I can try and help :-)
I also have some Lets Automate AD10 modules, but no CFLs.

My X10 was very reliable, but recently some modules in an outbuilding
have stopped responding to powerline commands. The momentary switch on
one of the still works so something else must be the issue - perhaps
the X10 signals are being blocked...
I did have some non-responsive LD11s after a bit of a brown-out but
thankfully they recovered after powering down & re-energising.

I'm not sure how an AD10 can generate an earth leakage as there's no
earth connection to it (nowhere for the current to escape to). I'd
concur with your other statement that it's unlikely to be the GU10s as
they have no earth connection either.

Perhaps you need to troubleshoot the RCD fault like X10 problems. Keep
unplugging things 'til it goes away and then plug them back in one at
a time until the fault reappears.

Good luck,

Tim.

another Marmitek AD10 circuit, again momentary make switches. This time the
load is 17 cfl GU10s.

the load circuit? Assuming no wiring faults GU10 is 2 pin and I don't
expect a leak to earth fault.
