Wii Component cable.

I've got a Joytech component & audio cable for my Wii, and no
matter
what I do when I put it through my amp, I get nothing from it. No
video or sound, but when I take the component direct to the TV it
works fine, but with no audio still.

The TV has 2 inputs, component & svideo. the amp has 2 monitor
outputs, one for the svideo & 1 for the component, so I left the
svideo like it was & took the composite and connected it to the 2nd
input on teh TV.

I understand that the output from the amp has to match the input
method, but they dont have to all be the same do they? svideo or
component, no mix and match?
