A mains or LV solenoid valve is a bit agressive IMO, with the plunger
hammering itself into the button and back out again. You might be able
to configure something containing a motor which does one rotation when
triggered, attached to the motor is a small wheel and attached to the
wheel is a rod. As the motor turns the rod is pushed forward (into the
button) and then retracted as the wheel continues to rotate (think of
a steam train piston or car engine piston...). The depth of
"press"
can be adjusted by moving the rod closer to/further from the centre of
the wheel. Not sure how you'd (reliably) time the rotation, perhaps
with micro switches looking at wheel position?
