Using SNTP
Hi,
I want to add SNTP to some of my AVR devices. SNTP is available in my
compiler but at extra $$$
I've looked at Wikipedia and it has heaps of links to heaps of words. :-(
Doing a hunt with Google etc, Ditto.
I read an article (July Circuit Cellar) where the author just did a UDP
broadcast to the network and a local time server responded back.
I.e. broadcast UDP ??? to Port 123?? on address 10.0.0.255 (My address
range
is 10.0.0.xxx)
The accuracy in the above was quite low (mess) but perfect for a bedside
clock and my applications.
Question is, what are they actually sending in the UDP broadcast? Exact
message would be great.
Any ideas on what the reply looks like.
After seeing the above messages the 16 page documents might make more
sense.
Regards,
Neil Wrightson.
