Autoglide & X10

Hi all,

Have finally got around to fitting an autoglide track I bought a few years
ago, and am automating it via x10. I have the transformer plugged into an
apllicance module, and this is scripted to turn on for a couple of minutes
at dawn/dusk to open/close.

I've also added an x10 door/window sensor so that my HA system always knows
if the curtains are open or closed so it won't send a message to close if
already closed as the autoglide would just open of course (being a toggle
system with no specific control) and vice versa

That all seems to work fine, but as the autolglide is normally powered off
it means no simple local control. I have setup an x10 switch so I can
locally power on/off the autoglide as an override but it's far from ideal

I did notice that Laser & Let's Automate used to sell an autoglide x10
module, but it appears to be no longer in production? Was wondering if
anyone knew why this might be please?

Am beginning to think the best way as things stand might be to have it
always on, and have my script turn it off for a few minutes and then back
on
to activate it?

But if anyone has any other suggestions I'd be extremely grateful please

Thanks
Tony
