[OT] Recommendations for a simple POP "out-of-office" program

Can anyone suggest a freeware simple little app that I can leave
running on my PC which will check a POP email account and replies to
each message with an "out of office" style email.

I would prefer not to leave outlook running, don't want to forward
email to another email service and ISP doesn't support any "vacation
responder" server end.

I would think there are hundreds of these sort of programs but google
returns lots of dodgy looking sites with pop-ups/banner ads! So
looking for a recommadation....
